When am I *ever* getting to those?

I always have that problem...I'm the same as Wabbit...too many to list!

Your favourite bookshop / place to buy books

I like to shop wherever there are books. You didn't list shopping for them in an overcrowded barn, which is my favorite.

    How often do you read?

If I got the chance, I'd read for hours per day. Unfortunately, between work, school, and taking care of my husband & cats, I might get a half hour on the weekdays to read. :( I usually get an hour or two on Saturday and Sunday, depending on how many engagements I might or might not have.

can you loose your relation to reality, because of reading?

I agree with Ashlea that reading one genre can definitely impact one's perception of reality. I do, however, sometimes finding myself saying similar things in similar patterns to those in whatever book I'm reading. Not always, but every once in a while. The characters do stick in my head...

    Any series???

Diana Wynne Jones' Chrestomanci series is good. So is her duology, The Dark Lord of Derkholm & The Year of the Griffin. The Harper Hall trilogy by Anne McCaffrey is excellent, in fact, you might just want to read the entire Dragonrider's series, which is fantastic. Both of these fall...

How do you listen to music?

Are you accusing me of being a Kelly Clarkson fan? Ugh. I listen to country and blue grass...so, yes, the lyrics are fairly important. I'm just surprised more people don't care about the lyrics. If I am interested in music without lyrics, I listen to a soundtrack or classical or something...

    SECOND HAND vs BRAND NEW

My few favorite authors I buy fresh, crisp and new. The others, definitely love second hand, because I'm cheap. Usually you can get pretty good copies for very little money.

How do you listen to music?

I'm a lyric person. I can't have music as background noise, because I will listen to it and the lyrics....and probably be singing along in my head (no one wants me to sing out loud). I'm surprised, though perhaps I shouldn't be, that so many listen to the music without truly registering the...

    Monstrous Regiment

Wabbit, I just finished Going Postal. I know what you mean about the series getting a bit repetitive around the middle, especially by The 5th Elephant, but I think you might want to look into Going Postal. It is set in Ankh-Morpork, but features an entirely new cast of characters. The...

What books did u score for Xmas then?

Going Postal by T. Pratchett, as well as two of his YA books. Smithsonian Handbook: Birds of North America: Eastern Region, which is excellent (can't wait to use it with my Sibley handbook). Also got a $20 gift certificate to my favorite bookstore for my birthday.

    Looking for book recommendation

Have you thought about trying Jane Austen? Her books are from an entirely different era, but I think they speak to every generation. Pride and Prejudice is her best. I enjoyed The Christmas Train, as well. I can't make too many recommendations, because this is not my usual genre, but I...
