I must really be horror deprived if I'm getting this excited about having all these books on my shelves! ;) Must be too much fantasy and historical fiction.

Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper Arafel's Saga by C.J. Cherryh The latter book was on a table by the door marked for one dollar. I went in for the former book and it wasn't in it's usual place with the other animal books. Then I turned around and it was on a display table behind me. So I was...

Lord of the Rings rewritten from Mordor's side

I found a wonderfully written fanfiction that told the story of the children of Hurin from the perspective of Hurin and Morgoth that I'm reading. But I'm not jumping on the chance for this retelling... I think I shall wait and see what others think of it. But the Carey books sound interesting.

    Your Personal Library

My mother suggested that I go and buy new bookshelves, some really nice ones instead of having these old cheap kind that are standing in my room. But I've always had them and it just seems odd to not have them in here holding my collection. Although I'm going through my books as I read them to...

Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan: The Strain

My boyfriend is finished with his copy of The Strain audiobook. He gave it to me so I can listen to it now. He wants to read the second book. I'm glad that he enjoyed the first book. I would have hated to be raving about something to him and him not like it after all. I did that once before so...

Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan: The Strain

I lamented seeing that release date! It's too far away! But it explains why I haven't seen any cover art for it. I'm impatient to know the ending to the story.

Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan: The Strain

Did anyone else know that Ron Perlman narrates the audiobook? I've been listening to a little bit of it... and he does a good job of it, I think.

    Borders bordering on bankruptcy

I know of at least two independent bookshops that I can get my books from if Borders goes bankrupt. Both have been great about ordering books I wanted that they didn't have in stock. Although I will miss all those coupons in my email that I get as a Borders Rewards member.

    Brits are closing their libraries.

What a horrible thought! I have to visit my local library at least once a week, but usually end up visiting twice.
