I was just wondering if anybody here has read any Canadian books, other than the ones by Lucy Maud Montgomery and Margaret Atwood; it can be fiction or non-fiction and what did you think of it? I'm just curious is all and would like to know what you guys thought of it.
Personally, I...
I have always considered them to be three seperate books, but then I grew up with them as three seperate books, with The Hobbit being an addition to the series that gives the trilogy some background, to a degree :)
Being religious as well, I didn't really see what the big deal was anyways. Growing up in a church environment (and yes, I still do attend on a regular basis), I grew up with the Narnia Chronicles in the church's library and when all the fuss over the HP books came up in last few years, I...
Does anybody have any idea when we might be voting for September's book of the month? I thought that we would have been voting by now as it is the 18th already out where I am and just thought that we would have been voting for September's book already.
Oh, I am going to give the book a try. I just have to wait a bit before my bookstore has it or I go to another one that has many more copies available. The reason I am looking for the book is because not only did I see the title advertised at the top of the page (in the Amazon.uk ad), but I...
The Time Traveler's Wife
I am considering of buying this book, but I was wondering if anybody on this site would recommend the book. Did you like it? Was it worth the purchase price?
If you could let me know, if it was worth it, without giving away the story/plot, I would really appreciate...
Not really, I am going to find out who dies in the end, not how they die. Honestly I really don't know what I am going to do when I get the book.
And even though I haven't read "The Half-Blood Prince", I know Dumbledore dies in the book; I overheard my sister talking about it with a friend...
I just finished the first part of the book and I was amazed at not only how easy it was to read, but was also amazed at the descriptions that Capote gave in the weeks leading up to the murders of the Clutter family and how the two murderers just went about their business in the weeks and months...
I think it will be somebody who is a main character, but who we least expect who will end up dying at the end of the book.
Harry might die, but it could be somebody we could least expect it. When I get it, I am going to read the last few chapters just to know who dies.
Sometimes I just go cause I am bored, sometimes cause I just read an amazing book that I had borrowed from the library that I just need to have, or sometimes cause I just have to have a certain book.
I suppose there are many reasons that cause me to purchase a book, but I suppose most of the...
Great month to do a banned books for this month, especially since the American Library Association has this as their banned books month.
Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak
Where do you guys get all this time to read all these books? I mean, I don't have a full-time job and I find it difficult to get through one book, let alone the amount some of you are getting through. Mind you, I tend to start books and rarely finish them...
I remember when I was going to...
I am about two-thirds of the way through the book and am just now really getting into it (I'm at the part where Callie is about to go to the doctor). Will give my final thoughts once I am done with the book. And yes, I do find the book a little slow at times, but I do enjoy his descriptions.
