I am using a Paperwhite now because I killed my last Kindle (keyboard) It's OK but I miss the page turning buttons. I'm paranoid my screen will get scratched.

    Random Question..Keep posting

Oooo. Tough one. I have to go with emotion. You can make much scarier decisions based on emotion rather than reason. How about antiques or modernism?

    Suggestions for September BOTM: Thrillers

The Cat Dancers - PT Deutermann. Its written after 2000, looks like it has a lot of twists and turns and should keep us chatting. I think I should be able to clear time by September!

Vote for for August 2013 BOTM: Romance

Tough call for me. Most of them would be a reread, but I gotta go with Charlaine Harris.

    Random happenings/thoughts

Random happening. Dog is probably sensitive/allergic to too much marrow from bones, so we don't give him bones anymore. About an hour ago, I went outside to have my coffee and read on the deck and found him out there with a bone! Little bugger probably buried it last summer before we knew...

I'll try. I'm not especially creative, but this sounds like fun.

    YA fiction is too dark

OK, for every "Go Ask Alice" book there is a Harry Potter series or a Protector of the Small series. Wee Free Men even leaps to mind. I get frustrated when folks see only one small part of an ever growing genre. Its like saying "fiction" is too dark. What a sad and irritating article that was.

May 2013: Kathryn Stockett, The Help

Oh crap. I forgot as well! I will go dig it up and plow through it this weekend. I've got a drive that's 3 hours long. That ought to do it.

Swag schmag...what can I get with them?! ;) And what happened to my sig line? Crap. Now I have to go find something suitably moronic to individuate myself.

Welcome To The New Book & Reader

OK, Its going to take some getting used to. I definitely like some of the stuff I'm seeing. Is there a way to get to the first unread post in a thread from What's New without having to read the whole thread? I think I missed that. What the heck are trophies and what are they for?

    February 2013: Diana Gabaldon: Outlander

Rape is nasty. I think that you need to read the other books in the series to really appreciate the way that scene changed Jamie's character.

    recommendations for a rape survivor

Charlaine Harris (of True Blood fame) wrote a series featuring Lily Bard who survived some horrific stuff and overcame it. They are the Shakespeare series. Easy reads, but well done. I think there are 4 of them if I remember correctly.
