Hello,
I was wondering if there would be any interest in creating a poetry discussion group, something along the lines of the book of the month thing they already have going on here.
Haven't really thought out the details because I'm not sure how much interest there would be in something...
Sorry about that =(. If it makes you guys feel any better, what I mentioned won't even make sense until you're right at that part in the movie, so it shouldn't ruin anything for you.
EDIT: oh man, you even have it in your signature
i'd say it's not as smart as it thinks it is. there's not much depth to the movie, nolan just made a bunch of convoluted sci-fi nerd rules that you have to pay attention to if you want to follow the movie. i can't remember where i read it but someone said that he's substituting complexity for...
he's not really, it's just his last two films have been more standard fare. if you want to see what i mean you should check out these movies by him:
videodrome
crash
dead ringers
the brood
shivers
naked lunch
scanners
eastern promises isn't bad, but it's nothing compared to the stuff he was...
really good episode !

Hotdog Stall of the Dead
Scene 1: ext Bridlington Hypermarket, camera slowly zooms in on a hotdog stall and its attendant vendor, Victor Daninsky. A smartly dressed man approaches...
gozu and audition are his best imo. gozu is like a david lynch tribute movie that has a lot of miike's typical disturbing humor in it. i haven't seen happiness of the kutakaris but someone whose taste is similar to mine said it's one of his favorites.
edit: oh you didn't like the flashback and...
i think a lot of people place too much importance on how faithful the movie is to the novel. if the director/screenwriter(s) take the source material, give it their own spin, and the movie owns hard then the fact that it strays from the novel shouldn't be a point of contention. a good example of...
watched a bunch of zombie movies last night:
night of the living dead
dawn of the dead
day of the dead
land of the dead
that's probably the order i like them in too. night of the living dead owns~! if you don't mind old movies you should check it out
