If it wasn't a VC Andrews that I just "picked up" out of nowhere, then it was Roxanna Slade by Reynolds Price...both painted places in my mind and I knew I wanted more afterwards.
VC Andrews....one of her series. Over 8 years ago. I began Jan Karon's Mitford series 6 years ago, but haven't got to the 2nd book yet. Bad Jennifer, bad!
Just how young should one be to enjoy this series?
Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Stephenie Meyer
It looked interesting, but then I saw the YA on it, and well...I'm not exactly a young adult. Can I still enjoy it?
1) One Book that made you read it More Than Once:
Still a rookie book reader, but the 1 that I've actually tried re-reading because I really enjoyed the story was Roxanna Slade by Reynolds Price.
2) One book you would want on a desert island:
My box set of Harry Potter because it would take...
I feel guilty for reading too much (I have a 5 year old that I guess I should be spending that time with) so when I do happen to finish a book I've started, I usually wait a little while - weeks - before I jump into another one. Not to mention it takes me months to read one book (same reason as...
The Red Tent: Anita Diamant
It wasn't the right time for me to begin this book. Someday.
Then I tried The Liars' Club: Mary Karr and again, just not in the mood for it.
Will try to open The Kite Runner tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.
Everytime I go to the zoo, I chuckle at the Meerkats. I love'm. The book was fantastic, I read it late last year and enjoyed it. The unfortunate part is that it was a borrowed book, so no trophy on the shelf for this read.
I think it depends on the age of the reader. I'm 31 and have a toddler....I was able to relate the the feelings of the parents, the father mainly and the mother of the "boyfriend". I never felt like I was reading YA.
I long for one of those days...
I am on my second book this year. I'm a slow reader. However I finished book number 1 in record time, I think less than 10 days and I was done. So what if it was only 220 pages. :)
I'm reading the first of my new purchases "The Only Girl in the Car" and it is interesting. Nothing major happening yet, still an introduction, on page 50 so hopefully it gets into the story a little better soon.
I BOUGHT A BOOK SHELF! FINALLY! It's small, but has room left for about 10 books. After that, I'll have to stack in front or behind. I should be good for a while.
I said that because somewhere in this thread somebody else went on about how horrible a show it was and how they still watched it. I can't watch it now because it just doesn't interest me. I was forced to watch it during dinner time as a child and I guess I had enough of it then. :)
