I prefer the traditional ones.
Anything by Hans Christian Andersen. "The Princess and the Pea" stays my favourite by him though.
From the Arabian Nights, however I loved "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves".
The "Askeladden-tales" by Peter Asbjørnsens (& Moe) were also good.
Jacob Grimms...
I think you should give "Priority" by Iselin C. Hermann a try. I'm reading it at the moment, and it's really good so far, I think i might be something for you. It's a collection of letters between Jean-Luc and Delphine.
Incredible.
I googled and found 5 of the above mentioned short stories, if anyones interested (I haven't read any of them yet though, plus there's probably some more out there. I don't know.):

Hey Rigana,
I’m so glad you read it. I think she’s brilliant. There is something “different” to her style. I’m really not sure how to explain it, plus my English isn’t exactly terrific, so I apologize for that. I read her plays in which order they were given out, and if you are interested I’d...
Yup. I've read everything by her, which isn't much by the way (5 plays & 1 screenplay). I started a thread called "Sarah Kane", but no one seems to have heard of her, so I'm glad you stumbled across one of her plays. :)
I have read one by Pinter too; "Betrayal", which was pretty good.
Hey downthrough!
Try "4:48 Psychosis" by Sarah Kane. It was written shortly before she comitted suicide after struggling with manic depression for many years. Reading that play was like being witness to it happening, which wasn't a pleasant feeling at all.
No need to apologize. :) I guess I just read it a little "different" from how you did.
I don't know. But I agree with you on it might being a help, however I don't believe that you can't like a book, because you and the characters had nothing in common.
I understood her and her feelings, but...
Jette A. Kaarsbøl. Her one and only book so far. Frederikke Leuenbech is the main-character, whose life changes after meeting Frederik Faber and his circle of acquaintances, one of whom is George Brandes, by the way. :D
Any bells ringing? :)
The author won "De gyldne laubær" (an award I'm not...
Welcome to the forum spyk! :)
I have read the first book in the Pullman triology, but still haven't read the other two though.
Anyways, enjoy your time around here. :D
Welcome Rincewind! :)
Here are 2 John Steinbeck threads that I found (thought I'd be a bit nicer than Wabbit, plus I'm not lazy :D) :

Oh yes, of course. :)
The ending was disappointing because I didn’t like that final, somewhat surprising twist. McEwan, not being the “real” author and you not being sure any longer, about what were “real” and what was made up. It just simply didn’t work for me; I know it did for a lot, but...
