I love the S.A.S.S. (Students Across the Seven Seas) series of books. They are all about different girls studying abroad and the friends, boyfriends, etc. they find along the way. Most are written by different authors, but they are written similarly enough that they flow smoothly from one to...
Thanks so much for the suggestions. I don't think the ones that were named are the ones, but I will definitely check out the sites mentioned. I really appreciate your trying to help!
I also mostly read young adult fiction, with the occasional mystery, romance, or other type of novel thrown in the mix now and then. I also write young adult fiction and just published my first novel (see my signature line for more info). I've read some dystopian books, but more in the fantasy...
Hi! Nice to meet you! I also enjoy fantasy and romance novels. When the romance is mixed with young adult themes, that's especially in my area of interest. Looking forward to seeing you around!
Thanks for the guess. The plot does look similar, but the cover of the box that I see when I search for it looks sufficiently scary enough that I would not have been interested in playing it as a young kid. I remember the game being more kid-friendly.
I can describe it, and I can picture it really well (not that that helps). It was like a scavenger hunt around a house and there was a dragon. I don't remember if the dragon was the one doing the scavenger hunt or if he was what you were supposed to avoid, but if I had to bet, my money would...
Hi Kyle! I write and read YA too. I just published a young adult novel (see my signature line for more information). I also sometimes read romance and mystery, among other types of novels, but YA is my favorite genre. I think it's great that you want to publish a book and give back what you...
I searched a bit and found a site that showed you had already found the answer (http://w1.loganberrybooks.com/stumpthebookseller/?p=2241#comments). Glad you were able to find it! I hate when I'm stumped and can't think of what I'm looking for. There is a computer game from when I was a kid...
Hi Whimsy! Nice to meet you. I also like reading books of many genres. Young adult, mystery, and romance are my favorites, but I try to get to others as time allows. Happy holidays!
The only possibility I can find is Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six'. Hope that maybe helps to place you on the right track to finding what you're looking for.
I have self-published my novel, so I am all for self publishing. It is a quicker process in the beginning to get it out into the world, but the marketing aspects of it fall to the author. I enjoy taking the time to spread the word about it and market it to the best of my ability, but I...
I make a note of the idea. I then get really anxious to start working on it, so I sometimes try to adapt at least part of the idea into what I am currently working on. That way, I can see if it holds up at all. Even if it doesn't, I still have the idea for a future story I want to write.
A...
I have one book published as of right now. It's a young adult novel titled 'Freshman Fourteen' and is available on Amazon in both print and Kindle editions and on Barnes & Noble's website.
I didn't have much luck, but I found the following two titles. They probably aren't what you're looking for, but I thought I'd share them in case they help you jog your memory, at the very least. Good luck finding what you're looking for! I know how frustrating it can be to look for something...
I haven't read a lot of science fiction, but what I have read, I've enjoyed. One science fiction style novel that I read by Octavia Butler is called 'Kindred'. I read it while teaching an honors English class. It was very well-written and interesting. I especially enjoyed the historical...
I know this thread is old, but in case there are other people looking for good books for 12 year olds, 'The Phantom Tollbooth' by Norton Juster is a fun read. I read it as a kid and then again as an adult. It was great to see the progression of meaning that was gained from one reading to the...
