Yesterday i watched Twelve Monkeys by Terry Gilliam.
One of my absolute favorites. It's an amazing picture. Bruce Willis gives one of his best performances, so does Brad Pitt. Gilliams direction is superb as always and it has a tight Screenplay, though it wasn't written by Gilliam himself...
I think the last movie i watched was The Fifth Element by Luc Besson. I really love this movie. It's funny, full of action, has a good story and is full of imagination, and it even has substance.
My second favorite Besson movie. My Vote: 9/10
These movies are not in any order and it's actually a pretty long list of movies which had a huge impact on me, not only on an emotional level. Here it is:
Delicatessen
Fight Club
Leon - The Professional
Dances with Wolves
Mononoke - Hime
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Big...
My recently finished books are:
Walking by Henry David Thoreau:
It's an amazing book, i absolutely love it. It's also an easy and quick read and a good begining for everyone interested, but yet unfamiliar, with Henry David Thoreaus work!
The Practice of the Wild by Gary Snyder:
Another...
Right now i read Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. I'm halfway through it already and so far i think it's a great book and on the best way of becoming my favorite Hesse novel.
I guess that's exactly what he did ;) he tried to drink himself to death, or at least to try to forget the meaningless and emptiness, he believed life had.
Women is not his best work and i would say, from his books, that Post Office is his best, mainly because it's shorter than the rest of...
Sorry, i didn't saw that you replied to my post.
Well i also don't think that he was a nice person. I guess he was pretty much a stupid bastard (most of the time), but some of his short stories are quite amazing and a really good read.
His books are a little bit repetitive and i don't think...
Yesterday i finished **** Machine by Charles Bukwoski.
Many of the short stories were pretty good, some were even great. Sometimes it gets a little repetitive, but most of the time the stories are fun to read. Some stories are quite unusual and weren't actually what i expected from Bukwoski...
Yesterday i started to read **** Machine by Charles Bukowski. It's a short story collection, originally a collection of stories from Erections, Ejaculations, Exhibitions and General Tales of Ordinary Madness, 1967-1972.
So far it's my favorite short story collection by Bukowski.
Funny...
Walden; Or Life in the Woods by Henry D. Thoreau
It's an amazing read. Not just a normal description about how he lived, but more importantly it's an extreme honest insight into his mind and character. He lets us know what's really important to him, what matters to him etc.
For me it's always...
I finished Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett a few days ago. It was pretty good and though i really liked it, i think it's not the best from the Discworld series, at least it's not my favorite Discworld book, it's still a nice and easy read.
I didn't put them in any order!!
Delicatessen - Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro
The Thin Red Line - Terrence Malick
Fight Club - David Fincher
Blade Runner - Ridley Scott
Heat - Michael Mann
Yume - Akira Kurosawa
Koyaanisqatsi - Godfrey Reggio
Dances with Wolves - Kevin Costner...
Interiors directed by Woody Allen:
I was rather dissapointed by this one. This isn't a movie, this is a stage play recorded on tape, at least i had this feeling. I'm pretty sure you can disect the entire movie, find a great interesting meaning and all this stuff, but the fact remains, that it...
