    Do people judge you?

Do you feel like people judge you based on what book you're reading? Sometimes I read some fairly heavy books - I enjoy Tolstoy and other classics as well as non-fiction about war-torn countries and the Holocaust. But, I also really like a few "fluff" books like the Princess Diaries series...

    Young Adult books...

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only adult who reads teen fiction! I'm 27 and love the Georgia Nicholson series as well as (*cringe*) the Princess Diaries series. If you want to read it, why not? If people ask me why I'm reading those books I just say it's a bit of light reading in between my...

    Your reading routine

Good question! I'll read any place, any time. I don't really have a ritual exactly! However, I suppose I do have a "most enjoyable" reading ritual. I love to curl up in a big chair with a book, blanket, cup of tea and (preferably) a log in the fireplace! Throw in a late night sky and some rain...

Do you read in the toilet, and what reading material usually goes in there?

I have a basket with magazines in mine. I also have this bathroom book (yes, says that on the cover!) with very short editions (3 to 10 pages) of major books. Shakespear, Tolstoy, etc. It's pretty good!

Roméo Dallaire: Shake Hands With the Devil

Has anyone read this book? I recently purchased it (haven't started it yet) and have found some rave reviews by critics but I don't know anyone who's actually read it! I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments on the book! Thanks! Oh, and do you know any books that are similar or of a...

    Buy books?

I do a mix of the library and the book store (usually Chapters, a large Canadian chain). I don't buy books online unless I can't find a specific book in a local store. I also spend a lot of time at the library lately. I'm living temporarily in a city that's a 5-hour plane ride from home, so it...

What do you use as a bookmark?

I tend to get bookmarks as stocking gifts for Christmas! But inevitably they end up lost. I don't fold the pages because I *hate* to ruin my books! I like them to look new and perfect. (Anal, perhaps.) I often use the receipt from the purchase, or I just remember what page I was on. Usually I...

    Your Personal Library

I don't think I have very many compared to a lot of you! Maybe 250 or so? I have almost every Stephen King book written and a few others in the horror genre as well (Koontz, etc). Most of what I read is either dramatic or humourous fiction. Also, I have quite a large collection of travel books...

    New here!

Hello! After finding this site accidentally (I never knew so many "book nerds" like myself existed out there!) and lurking for the past couple of weeks, I decided to introduce myself. I'm in my late 20s and like books in general! I'm reading My Sister's Keeper right now (love it) and have...
