I just got the following books in the mail! :D
Mr. Darcy's Diary, by Amanda Grange -- a very interesting book, makes you look at P&P differently!
Breaking dawn - Stephenie meyer
The book with no name - anonymous (bought it because it reminded me of my brothers writing style and I wanted him...
If you are ok with not telling anyone, I can understand it. Every one is different, and if some don't want the attention or want people to see the words and not the writer there will always be people who like it the other way around. I never really published anything (except if you count the...
If I were you I'd just keep on writing! and show it to your family for surport. I wrote my first story (well long story, I wrote short ones before that) when I was nine, and showed it to my parents from time to time, so that they would push me to continue. Now ofcourse the story is already...
When ever I show some of my work to someone--I'm dreadfully nervous. What if it's not what they expected? what if they absolutely don't like it? say I'm terrible?
Fortunately for me they never did. And they I started thinking, what if they had? Of course I'd have hated it, but would it have...
Yes I have the same thing. Sometimes you just have to put it aside, do something else, and then later read it again. Because then you'll ahve forgotten some details, and in my case forgotten half the story, but the point is, you'll be reading it more like one of your readers would. And that will...
No I don't think it's plagiarism. I mean the two sentences are totaly different! only "she walks in" and "the night"
Anyone could have used that. So unless you knew that poem and did it on purpose, and even then I wouldn't say it's plagiarism.
yes I agree, if you post them here we can all just read them, and also people's reactions on them. Also it would cost you less time, because you don't have to say the same thing over and over again.
You shouldn't do that. If you think that it sucks, just open a new page to write on. and then compair the two of them. It will spare you a lot of time. Or you could also just let it rest, and look at it again a half an hour later, or a day later. It would be a shame if you delete something that...
yeah but a title, in a lot of cases, tells almost nothing about the book. but the title is very important too, if the title is boring, I'd be less encouraged to take the book of the shelf.
I mean, you have some that havent been used for quite a time, and I just think that they take in unessary space.. ( like at the Writersblock selection there are more than 11 pages.. if you go to the 11th one you see that most of them have been last responded to in 2003! see what I mean? )
and...
hey,
I think the site is very good, simple but nice. However some topics haven't been used for like... a year or something, shouldn't someone delete them?
I do both. I write for myself because I enjoy it, but I also make it to make other people happy who read it, to make them enjoy it and want to read more. I love it when people tell me they love my work, because well it's good for my ego (lol) and I know that they enjoyed it.
I write a lot. I have a few short stories written mostly for my friends, but I put them online. I have fanfictions because I enjoy making them and love to read the reactions. right now I'm busy on a novel and it's almost finished. I just have to reaad it once more and then maybe get it published...
yeah ok, but I meant more like, you know if the cover really tells you something and it isn't true, it will be a huge disappointment, at least that's what I think. and that cover tells nothing, so it isn't not connected to the book nor connected. it's just..well nothing.
when someone tells you exactly what to write (or how too) . I hate that, I want to write what I want and MY way. And of course when I can't seem to put down everything that's floating in my head...well not the way I wanted to.
