Help with Cormac McCarthy
I've tried reading McCarthy but I've always been stymied by the man's disdain for quotation marks. I get halfway through a line before I realize it's dialogue. Does it get easier as it goes along or should I invest in the audiobook?
Oops
Ell, by disturbing I meant psychological. There's not a lot of gore in either book.
Velvetvanilla, you're right. It is Robt. Greysmith, I was typing from memory. Last time I do that.
Scary Stuff
Non-Fiction: Zodiac by Robert Goldsmith. Hands down the most disturbing thing I've read in a long time. Oddly enough, Goldsmith's follow-up, Zodiac Unmasked, not as scary.
Fiction: The Shining by Stephen King. I never get creeped out by fiction, but this did it.
Hope that helps.
