Sure wish she'd give some clues about when the next book is coming out.

    Looking for a book. Help!

Okay, this is a book that I picked up at a flea market to relieve boredom when I was around ten. I believe the title was "Seven Stars to Sunday". I can't remember the characters' names but it was about two foster kids who kept getting presents in their mailbox until their final present was a...

What other hobbies do you enjoy?

Lies & Townbear-- Have either of you played a new game called Cranium? It looks interesting to me but I haven't shelled out the thirty dollars yet.

    Difficult books.

I'm still trying to puzzle out the Silmarillion. It's been beside the bed for about a year now, and I still can't bring my self to start it again. I got about halfway through last time but just forgot about it.

Patricia Cornwell: Portrait Of A Killer

I read a bit of it and it sounds as though her logic is solid. There was also a t.v. special on a couple of months ago which advanced this same theory, but I don't remember if Cornwell was associated with the show.

    Spiderman (2002)

I also thought the film was really good, considering what I was expecting when I went in to see it. Maybe I just remember it as a good movie as compared to Star Bores, which I also saw that weekend.

You mean like the one in your Clancy post? Sorry, I don't mean this to be mean, but you've got to see the irony.

    Disagree with ending?

Don't know if anyone else has read it yet, but I was very annoyed with the end of Lamb by Christopher Moore. It just didn't complete the story in my opinion.

What other hobbies do you enjoy?

Marie-- I love Monk. I watched it a lot the beginning of the summer, but fell off in the end and am just now catching up on the episodes I missed. I think it's hilarious. I was also a Trading Spaces addict for a while but am rarely home to see the new ones anymore. They did have some of...

David-- Thanks for the recommendation. I just ordered some Welsh language CD's from work. I'll let you know if any of them have good pronunciation technique.--jessica

    Abarat--Clive Barker

Dawn-- Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Sure, I would do a review for it. It wasn't a great book, but was an interesting beginning, because it obviously has a sequel. Anyway, if you set up the page, I'll try to put a review on it sometime this week.--jessica

    Favorite Young adult authors

Yeah, Little Men is pretty good. Not as good as Little Women, buit not bad either. I only read it once, whereas I've reread Little Women a lot.

To start things off: Favorite books

Dafydd-- If you are Welsh you should read the books. Lloyd Alexander based them on Welsh mythology and the terrain of Wales. I read the books as a kid, but didn't realize the Welsh corrolation until I started doing academic Welsh research. By the way, do you speak Welsh? I have tried to...

Does anyone know the name of this book?

    Favorite Young adult authors

I read far too many kids' books for a twenty-two year old, but my favorite authors are the ones I loved when I was actually a kid. Lloyd Alexander, C.S. Lewis, and Lucy Maud Montgomery. Montgomery doesn't really fit with the others, but I'm also a big fan of Little Women, and what girl can...

    Abarat--Clive Barker

I picked up this book b/c of the novelty of Clive Barker writing a children's book(turns out it's his second). After reading the first few chapters it seems to be pretty interesting. Has anyone else heard of it or started reading it?

To start things off: Favorite books

My list of favorite kids' books would be far, far too much for you. Although Harry Potter is a great series, I'll have to put my absolute favorite as a tie between Little Women and the Prydain Chronicles. By the way, does anyone know definitively how Prydain is pronounced?

    Difficult books.

I also remember hating Heart of Darkness, and the Secret Sharer for that matter, maybe just not a Conrad fan? However I love reading Canterbury Tales in medieval English, must be the history major in me. I never got past the first few pages of Finnegan's Wake. On the other hand, I forced...
