Where are you? (in the book you are reading) - please read 1st post

I'm a large neohadrosaur, eating grass. (Its more of a non-linear website than a book, but it might as well be a book. Its certainly written as if it could be a non-fiction book.)

Do You Have a Story Idea (Novel or Short Story) in Your Head Right Now?

Most of my ideas have been along the line of imaging fantasy "worlds" than actual plotlines. Usually abandon them within a few weeks.

    Book recommendations for a preteen?

He might like the Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart if he's into fantasy. The reading level isn't too high, and the stories are interesting. Though the books do seem to get progressively more violent toward the end.

    Do you take book notes?

I remember my father had annotated bits of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy that were particularly funny, such as "teaching a child to become a fish" and "fruitage".

    Book involving alien encounter/civilization?

Well, not strictly about alien encounters, the humans in Last and First Men become pretty alien towards the end. Some alien cultures are described in Starmaker, both of which are by Olaf Stapledon. In All Tomorrows (available for free download from the author) deals with what happens when...

I've been reading since early grade school, mostly fantasy, sci-fi, and natural history books. I kinda dropped off recently, and am starting to read more. Just started Last and First Men by Olaf Stapledon.
