Not yet...but I saw another one of his books prominently displayed at the library when I picked up The Narrows...so once I finish reading the Sherlock Holmes pastiche I'm in th emiddle of guess what's next?;)

The Narrows by Michael Connelly.:stars3: Not as gripping as The Poet, IMO, which was the prequel.

The Poet by Michael Connelly:stars5: I liked it for the twists and turns in the plot, even though the author took license with the way law enforcement officers operate.

    Revamping the BOTM process

Votes should be public - IMO - as long as we're all adults about those who, for whatever reason, don't or can't participate. I belong to a neighborhood book club and we have a set membership list and rotate who picks for that month - our page limit is around 300, though sometimes we pick a...

    Hi All

Hi, Julie! I haven't explored enough to know if there's a challenge here or not. I DO know, though, that many members here seem to be fast readers! And this forum doesn't move as fast as crochetville, thank goodness!

    Anyone Else Practice "Random Reading"?

I give any book a chance, but there have come times when I realize I'm not getting anything out of it - or worse: I don't care what happens next. THAT tells me it's time to put it down and move on. There are so many good books out there to read, whether they're classics or biographies (I love...

I just finished my first Dorothy L Sayers book: Strong Poison. No review here...just saying that I really enjoyed it. Of course it might be because I love Sherlock Holmes, too...and like the whodunnit to be a fun and interesting read.

    Anyone Else Practice "Random Reading"?

You give a book more of a chance than I do - but being a tad on the older side I don't have time to waste on a bad book:lol:

    Anyone Else Practice "Random Reading"?

I usually like a certain type of book (suspense/mystery/thriller) so will try different authors on a whim - esp if free or a bargain book.

My favorite part of writing: editing. I had lots of practice helping some people who shall remain nameless with their college papers:whistling:.BTW, they received very good grades.

What do you hate most about writing?

That's something I always seem to resist - even back in the dark ages when at school! It might be time to give it a shot again. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks! That's quite a list! And very eclectic.:D

What do you hate most about writing?

What I hate most about writing is after coming up with a great idea...running with it (I'm a SOTP writer) I get to the sagging middle...and stay stuck. Which is why, over the past years, I've written nothing but non fiction articles.

ebook reader comparisons-Which is the best?

I love my Nook. I've had it for 3 months or so. I asked several people what they had, saw a Sony ereader in person, and decided on the Nook. A big part of it was the disappearing screen on the bottom so there are no distractions next to the page you're reading.

    Color Nook you say?

I just bought my Nook about 3 months ago - figures:lol: I love it, though - for someone like me who loves to read and likes gadgets it's perfect:)
