I recently finished these audiobooks:

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston :stars4:
Zero Regrets by Apolo Ono :stars4:

I think it would be interesting to know which books we struggled with finishing. It would be nice if we would not get our feelings hurt by knowing someone else didn't like a book we really enjoyed. After all, we all come from very different backgrounds and have different tastes. We don't...
I'll chime in. Sometimes, a good book just doesn't grab me and I know I should stick with it. It took me a very long time to finish The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks but I was committed to finishing it. Not sure why I had difficulty other than not much happened over the course of the read...
Today I planted 5 new daylilies I bought at a daylily club meeting on Saturday. A few days earlier, I planted a pepper plant in a pot and also two six packs of portulacas in the garden among the daylilies and roses.
Joshua, if it weren't for audiobooks, I would have missed some of my favorite classics. Having them read to you, often in actual accents, by talented narrators makes a world of difference. I have recently listened to and enjoyed David Copperfield, The Good Earth, The Count of Monte Cristo...
I am a big fan of audiobooks, and I think they can greatly enhance the experience of the book. I just finished Ready Player One and I think if I read the paper version I would have missed out on an amazing experience. Will Wheaton was fantastic. Same with The Help--the narration was exceptional...
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William L. Shirer :stars5:
The Winter of Frankie Machine by Don Winlsow :stars3: 1/2
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline :stars5: This one was just too much fun on audio! :)
Well, thanks for the warm welcome from all of you and the advance warning about Will!
I finished Rainwater so it's back to Hitler.
I welcome any of you to be my friend on Goodreads. I like using it to keep track of my reading and also, to look at their reviews before choosing a book.
Readsalot,
Have you read The Book Thief? That is where I first came across Hitler Youth. It is a favorite book of mine--fiction.
I have detoured from The Rise and Fall . . . as I have had two broken mp3 players in the process. I will go back to it just as soon as I finish Rainwater by Sandra...
I am just going to throw out some ideas based on the list you gave. You can look them up on-line and see if they appeal to you.
Speaker For The Dead, Orson Scott Card
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian, Sherman Alexie
the series of Miles Vorkosigan books by Lois Bujold McMasters...
