    Is this good grammar?

Many thanks for the comments. It would be folly to misunderstand the sentence; I believe most people (sane people, that is) don't talk to their vehicles. ;-) However, it did sound ambiguous and compelled me to post the question. English is a positional language, different from Spanish or -more...

    Is this good grammar?

English is not my native language so I'm not sure if the following sentence is all right. «Flight Sergeant Worthington waited for Lambert. They walked without speaking to the aeroplane.» In my humble opinion, and to my limited domain of the English language, this phrase seems to indicate...

have you guys read an e-book

I started reading ebooks in a Palm organizer some 10 years ago. Now I mainly use a Kindle but synch the book to my smartphone and PC as well. Whenever I have 10 free minutes and wherever I am, I reach for the phone or switch to the 'Kindle for PC' window and read a chapter. Also, it's much more...

    e-Books Vs normal books..

I pre-ordered Follet's "Fall of Giants" in HB form when it was announced in the big "A" bookshop. The book weighed in at over half a kilo. I was about one third through it when the .azw version appeared. I downloaded it to my Kindle and gave a huge rest to my aching arms. I've done this with...

Still Not Sure What eReader to Get!

Tablets, smartphones, PC's and anything with a backlighted screen is almost impossible to read outdoors. I tried that a couple of weeks ago and the only device that can handle those conditions (eg. a beach cot) is a Kindle or similar "epaper" screened device.

Yes! Many thanks in earnest. I got it already from the "A" bookshop and it's in my Kindle now. Best, Jorge.

    Solved - Post-war Berlin, Eva Braun, Hitler's Painting, Neo-Nazis.

Anamnesis, sadly no. The Bunker by J.P. O'Donnell was one of the first hits I got through Google and Amazon but it is a historical account of Hitler's last days. The book I'm looking for is totally fictional and takes place in the Berlin of the 70's, when Germany is fairly well along...

Greetings from Mexico. Glad to make your acquaintance.

Hello. My name is Jorge M. Treviño and I live in Mexico. Stumbled here looking for a book title. I'm an avid reader of, basically, three genres: Thrillers, Historical Novel and Science Fiction. Among my favorites are Frederick Forsyth, Michael Crichton, Ken Follet, Jeffrey Archer, Douglas...

    Solved - Post-war Berlin, Eva Braun, Hitler's Painting, Neo-Nazis.

Help please. Looking for a suspense novel I read ca. 1980. The plot goes more or less like this: The main character is tasked with asserting the autenthicity of a painting, presumably by Adolf Hitler. He goes on to find that even tho the painting has all the earmarks of a true Hitlers paint...
