    February 2013: Diana Gabaldon: Outlander

Lol! I see what you're both saying for sure. For me though, when it happened to Clair it almost felt like I was going through it with her which effected me more than I would have thought. I read because books become real to me...it was like I was there with her watching and couldn't do anything...

    Stephen King: Under the Dome

I quite enjoyed it. Just one loose end that bugged me. Spoiler alert, but what happened to the kid? I would have liked to have known in the end who took him in.

What do you think about "fifty Shades of Gray"?

Poor writing. I knew before I got into it that it was supposed to be repetitive, but...jeez! I suggest reading "Bared to you" by Sylvia Day instead. It's very similar just better writing. It's almost like she read 50 Shades and decided to re-write it just about 100 times better...at least in my...

    February 2013: Diana Gabaldon: Outlander

I've read them all. I know it changed his character for sure. All I meant is that the particular part where Diana did the whole "healing" ritual felt a little unconvincing before Kelstan explained that this is a common thing in trauma situations. I can't assume most people who haven't had first...

    Horror

Um... Yep, I'd start with Run then try the Desert Places Trilogy or Abandon. :-). Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

    Horror

I recently discovered and love Blake Crouch (just started a thread actually :> ). I would start with Run and then maybe Abandon. There's plenty more if you like those...Loved the Desert Places Trilogy. Wouldn't start with Serial uncut though, might scare you off...seriously. Those are all the...

    Blake Crouch

Just wondering if there was anyone out there who loves Blake Crouch? I read Run and was addicted :) Loved the Desert Places trilogy and just finished Abandon which I also very much enjoyed. Did enjoy Serial uncut (even though it made me physically ill in some parts and I had to leave a light on...

    February 2013: Diana Gabaldon: Outlander

O.K. so I read this series a while ago but the first book has always bothered me. So, SPOILER ALERT cuz I'm gonna unleash here. So...Jaime's captured. Fine. He's tortured. Also fine, I'm O.K. with a little craziness. Then she took it WAY TOO FAR!! Was I the only one screaming at my...

    Diana Gabaldon: Outlander

Yes, good series but (in my opinion) far too long! I think somewhere along the way it turned into a money grab (8 books and like 4 companion novels! Come on!). I loved the first 4 then the first half of the fifth one really lagged and then again the first or second half of the seventh was again...

    I desperately need recommendations...

The Twilight series might be a good next read for you. Even if you've seen the movies, the books were great. Also there's the new Insurgent series by Victoria Roth. I haven't read them yet but have them on my Kobo and am excited. Holding off cuz the 3rd one isn't out yet. They sound like...

    Stephen King

Not replying to anything just putting my comments about King...I'm a new member and was excited to find this forum! And my very first day I get to praise my favorite author! Lol! Stephen King is why I read. When I was 19 a friend gave me a bunch of "hand me down" king books and as they say...the...
