    Series Reading: In Order?

As someone who loves to read one of the things I enjoy most is reading books that form part of a series. It doesn't matter whether its a trilogy or a series spanning a dozen books or more, there's just something really warm and inviting at being able to settle down with a new book and being...

Thanks Bella. I think I will take a chance on Divergent after all, although when that will actually be remains to be seen as I have quite a few others to read first.

    E.B. White: Charlotte's Web

Well, Wilbur is my absolute favorite but I have to admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Templeton the Rat.

    2014 Books Coming Out

That's the problem though - why do you think I've kept hold of them for so long?! In all seriousness though there are a few that I know I will never read again as I never enjoyed them first time around and have no intention of ever reading them again. Plus getting rid of books means it makes...

    E.B. White: Charlotte's Web

I adore Charlotte's Web, it's one of my absolute favorites. Charlotte is the ONLY spider I have ever liked! I was gutted when I realized I'd misplaced my childhood copy and finally got around to buying a new one a couple of years ago. Definitely time for a reread I think!

Ooh, what did you think about this series? I nearly picked up a copy of this today but wasn't entirely sure it was my kind of thing. Although saying that I said the same thing about The Hunger Games and dilly-dallied over reading that for months and then when I finally did read it, I really...

    2014 Books Coming Out

Yay! Well done pontabla. Maybe I should start an Amazon wish list too. I'm in the process of doing a few home improvements to the house at the moment, decorating, new carpets etc. and have just boxed up a lot of my books while the work is going on and OMG!!! I knew I had a lot of books, but...

How wide do you open your book?

My original paperback copy of the first Harry Potter book started to come away at the spine after I'd read it so many times so I actually bought a second complete set. The original set is the one I read whenever it takes my fancy, while the newer versions sole purpose in life is to sit on the...

    pontalba's place

I loved The Husband's Secret when I read it a few weeks ago. Even though the 'secret' isn't a secret to the reader it's certainly interesting to see how the various other characters deal with the repercussions of the revelation. I have one of Liane Moriaty's other books in the my TBR pile too...

    Best Children's Book

I struggled to get through The Hobbit in my 20's when I read it and I don't think I would have enjoyed it any more if I'd read it as a child. I loved Roald Dahl when I was a kid and would love to re-read his books now that I'm an adult. My favorites were The BFG and Matilda, both excellent books!

Personally I think the sub-forum would be better suited under the General Book Discussion section, but to be honest I don't mind as long as it goes somewhere.

Chatterbox grandma with adult ADD who cannot keep a job ... and writes steamy romance

Hello and welcome to Book & Reader Forest Girl. I love your intro by the way, one of the best I've read and much, much more interesting than mine!

I don't think I've ever seen an in-house blog feature on a forum before so I'm not entirely sure how that worked previously but I was thinking along the same lines as to what's just recently been initiated on the Crime Fiction & Thriller board, but more generalized rather than genre specific...

Tess Gerritsen: Rizzoli & Isles Series

I love books from a series and am always looking out for new authors so I've taken a note of these and will definitely check them out.

    2014 Books Coming Out

I have the exact same problem. I really need to slap a big No-Book-Buying Ban on myself until I get through some of the books on my TBR pile... a fair few of which I've had for years!

What could JK Rowling write next (pertinent to HP)?

I haven't really heard all that much about The Cuckoo's Calling as a lot of people I know have put off reading it because of their feelings about The Casual Vacancy so thanks for the feedback pontalba. I might see if I can get it from my local library, then if I can't get into it or don't enjoy...

Tess Gerritsen: Rizzoli & Isles Series

Thanks. Yeah, I tend to do that too although in my case it's not always necessarily books from a series, sometimes it's just books by the same author which can then sometimes begin to feel a bit like they're all the same. With that in mind I think I might alternate them with something...

Tess Gerritsen: Rizzoli & Isles Series

I was debating about whether to watch the series whilst reading the books but have decided to read the books first - or certainly the first few anyway. I always try and read a book before seeing any kind of movie adaptation so figured I should stick to my rule with television spin-offs too. I...

I hope this is the correct place to post this. I love what's been done to the Crime Fiction & Thrillers board and was just wondering if that is something that is going to filter out to the other sections too, or whether it's purely for that genre. I understand that the changes have been made...
