    I greatly enjoyed this book -- I love road trips, real and fictional. It made me wish it was easier to take long treks in the US, on lightly traveled roads with small towns and friendly farms every few miles. Those days are gone.

    What kind of horror? Monsters, ghosts, vampires, end of the world? You can't go wrong with early Stephen King -- The Stand, Salem's Lot, The Shining.

    Not quite on the same level as Replay (my favorite) but I can recommend two by Charles Dickinson -- A Shortcut in Time and A Family in Time. In Shortcut, the main character encounters a young woman from the 1800's and manages to travel back to her time. In the sequel -- ya know what? I can't...
