Hi and welcome. I'm new-ish too, but trying to be more active. I am also addicted to the Goodreads challenges, haha. My Goodreads is linked from my signature if you want to add me. :)
Welcome to the forum! You speak/write English very well. :) I myself have only read one book in Greek, while I was working on an English degree, and I basically had to look up every word.
I like vinyl, but I listen to basically everything digitally now. I have subscriptions to both Spotify and Audible, and I also listen to a number of (bookish) podcasts via. the Apple Podcast app.
Arrived in the mail yesterday...
Gilead by Marilynne Robinson
Home by Marilynne Robinson
The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling)
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
(Bought them all used for $3 each from a seller on eBay. They were all hardcovers, and I am very pleased!)
I have an iPhone 6 Plus, and I use a number of different eReading apps on it. Most often I find myself on Scribd or Oyster, but I've also been known to download things to the Kindle and Nook apps.
Hi and welcome! That's cool that you're studying information systems. I'm work in data science and analytics, and I just so happen to feel that information systems and data-related careers are the cat's pajamas. I like your website, it's awesome! The design is super sleek. I haven't read...
Hi there, Lilac-stars-included. :) Welcome to the forum. I've been around for a few months, mostly lurking. It's nice to meet you. I'm trying to be more active and get to know more people (and be less of a hermit in general, which is what I tend to be...) ANYWAY. Welcome! I look forward to...
I love Murakami, and I also started with 1Q84. I think it was probably a pretty good place to have started. The same year I read that, I read The Windup Bird Chronicle, which I liked quite a lot as well. That might be a good place to go next. Murakami is a genius!
I know this is an odd question, usually people are looking for opposite advice, but I'm an odd person and my life is very odd, haha.
I am very, very good at filling my house with books that support feminism and diversity. Recently my kids have been on a graphic novels binge and are all in...
Batgirl: Year One, followed by Batman: The Killing Joke. I love me some Barbara Gordon. I was also quite into Red Robin for a time, but kind of lost interest after a while.
I echo the suggestion for Murakami. I discovered him last year and love his books.
I recently finished Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer and adored it. I like a lot of the books you listed as favorited, so maybe this would be up your alley too.
Welcome to the forum! I'm new here too. I grew up in Canada, so je parle francais un petit peu. (Oh how I wish I remembered more of my high school French classes!)
sparkchaser: NICE list of recommendations. I really like scifi as well, and your list is solid. Old Man's War is one of my...
Oh no worries, you didn't end the conversation, I just got really busy with work and haven't had time to check in for a couple of days. :)
I'm a bleeding-heart liberal, but that is definitely something I hate as well - "feel free to express yourself...as long as you do it in a way I approve...
