    J.R.R. Tolkien: The Silmarillion

::revives this thread:: I consider The Silmarillion is one of my favorite books. I probably enjoyed it moreso than The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit put together. However, I am a history and mythology nut, so that could explain that. For those that are having trouble: take notes. When I...

    Worst/Most Overrated books

Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code Come on, folks. It's two years old. Let other books have a chance of being on the bestseller lists. This book is OK.. the author did a tremendous amount of research for it, however, the plot is a bit weak.

J.R.R. Tolkien: The Lord Of The Rings

I, personally, consider The Lord of the Rings to be one book. However, it was broken up because people can't sit down and read a book that size at once. :P

Didn't see a thread for this anywhere so I figured I might as well start one. :P And I must start it off with a salute to Jerry Orbach. Rest in peace, Lennie. We miss you. -- So. Any fellow dun-dun fans out there? Has anyone else watched Trial by Jury yet? I saw it last Friday and...

    Alternate History

The 163x universe by Eric Flint is a great series. I'm anxiously awaiting the next tomes so we can find out what happens to Grantville. :D I like some of Harry Turtledove's books -- not his American alternative history ones, however. Too.. fantastical? Dunno. However, I consider his Ruled...

What do bookworms do for exercise?

I've finally started an exercise regiment that I've stuck to pretty much to. Every morning, I'm up at 4am and out the door by 4:30am to ride on the local recreation center's stationary bike for a half hour. Usually get about 10 miles down in that time period. Better than nothing, eh? My arms...
