    He published 6 volumes of short stories (The Books of Blood) before any of his novels. Amazon should have them.

    I loved his short stories and early novels but have to say I find his more recent stuff (anything after Cabal really) far too self-indulgent

    Think I'd echo what a lot of other people here have said, I used to be a fan but found he got repetitve (not to mention extremely misogynistic). Savage was by far my favourite of his books (Jack the Ripper in the wild west - who could resist that!)

    Zombie Novel Recommendations

    I'd agree that zombies are pretty under represented in horror fiction (certainly compared to the movies). I seem to remember that 'Deathday' by Shaun Hutson was kind of fun, although much motr in the vein of Lucio Fulci than Romero.
