I searched for a similar thread, but came up with nothing. Here' goes:
On the book&reader homepage, on the left menu, there is a section called "Bookshelves", and listed under it: Fiction, Children's Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Science Fiction. When I click on any of the "Bookshelves", all...
Below is the start of a short story I've been playing with while finishing the first draft of my next novel. It's called "The Trial Chair". A friend of mine asked me to write him a short story, so here's the start of its first draft. I'll post more when more develops. Please, let me know your...
I spent this last weekend at a Writers Bootcamp (in Baltimore, Maryland) with the following authors: Doug E. Winter, F. Paul Wilson, David Morrell, Elizabeth Massie, Tom & Elizabeth Monteleone, and Jack Ketchem (as well as some Cemetery Dance folk). What a crowd. It was intense, to say the...

Marvel Comics will soon be releasing comics based on Stephen King's Dark Tower series, starting April 2006. Mr. King, as far as I know, is set to write, Jae Lee is set to illustrate.
Here's the press release.

It's close to Halloween, so I thought I would bring out some of my short stories to share with all of you. Please comment and critique as harshly as you so desire.
THE LIGHT IN THE CLOSET

There was a strange man in my room last night, wearing only black (a...
Since the "Your Future..." poll is currently closed, I thought I would create this thread for those of you still wishing to express your opinons on whether or not this forum is falling apart. Or you could vent your frustrations in The Therapy Thread.
Need to vent? Dump it out here for all to discuss.
I'll start... I hate when family and / or friends bring up one of the three no-nos in conversation (religion, money, politics) and insist on pushing buttons. Sex used to be a fourth no-no, but has since been removed from my list.
;) What's the best way ;) to get something out from under one's eyelid? ;) I've got something in there driving me nuts. ;) My left eye is pouring out whatever fluid eyes produce, and is bugging the crap out of me. Maybe it's just a sty (sp?) since it won't come out.
I am currently watching this show. I had high hopes going in... wishing for something other than cheesy dialogue and bad acting. Oh well. There's always X-files reruns.
Apparently my posts here are too self-promotional... Maybe they are; maybe they aren't. It doesn't really matter if they aren't; it really matters if they are. Lately I feel this forum is falling apart. It became a giant fustercluck here for a while, therefore some of us asked for more...
To keep from obtaining a third warning, I will no longer speak of this "book that shall not be named"... even though it's a freakin' thread created by another forum member with my freakin' name used in the title...
But please, feel free to ask questions... I just won't be able to answer...
Thought I would share this with all of you. Here's a cover sample for Phoenix Rose, my still-in-progress follow-up novel to Palindrome Hannah. Another beautiful piece by Michael Ian Bateson, huh?
Care to share your initial thoughts?
Anyone care to reflect on the following titles by Stevey?
Danse Macabre
On Writing
Secret Windows

You ever have that kind of dream--usually only a few seconds long--where you are laying by a cliffside and suddenly roll off, or you are walking along and whoopsy, you fall? And then you are instantly startled awake with that nightmarish shake?
I've heard that everyone does this... but...
