How old are you? When did you start your first HP book?
I was 14 when I read the Philosopher's Stone. I'm now 18.
Personally I don't think the HP series is strictly for children, meaning, YA or adults may even enjoy it more than children, because there are a lot of deep, heart-wrending...
I mean books that make you feel good after reading it, like a shower for the soul.. hehe.
Some examples are:
The Kite Runner (although it did contain a lot of heart-wrendingly painful parts)
Holes by Louis Sachar (light entertaining read, happy ending - by which I don't mean cheesy 'they...
I was reading Dean Koontz's The Door to December and I've just decided that I'm going to stop. I finished half already, wow that was a waste of several hours of my life.
I'm not making myself stop, the book is. It's insanely cheesy, no offense to any fans. I just happen to find certain types...
I totally agree. They first breathe the insecurity into you, then provide the 'solution' aka 'hot buys right now', but those 'solutions' only make it worse, resulting in a bunch of broke, low self-esteemed kids.
I'm readingThe Door to December right now and the main female character Laura annoys me a little. Other than that, the narration is good. First book of his I've ever read, and probably will be the last.
The Lovely Bones. I couldn't stand the narrator's effort at making the book touching. I didn't finish it. Even if the storyplot gets better in the end, I feel no loss. The narration ruins everything.
