    Plot points you can't stomach?

graphic animal cruelty.....child abuse of any kind.....those are my two turnoffs

    T.V.-a love/hate relationship?

Moderation of quantity and quality is definitely the key. I went through an obsessive tv watching phase when I was younger too, but lately I've barely been watching it at all. As long as my children's lives are balanced (i.e., they are reading and not living otherwise sedentary lives) and they...

    The Tipping Point

I'm just now starting this one and haven't read anything else by Gladwell. Looks like it is going to be a good read.

    Paul Auster

I'm a definite Auster fan as well. Oracle Night was my favorite...we've all had a "bue notebook" in our lives at some point, and he captured the essence of that beautifully.

Can You Part With Them Easily?

I too rarely get rid of my books. I have no problems lending them out or even giving my copy to a friend and immediately replacing it with another, but I never sell them back or get rid of them. I'm only an occasional re-reader, but I like to hold onto them all....they are like my souveniers of...

I met Richard Powers once, right around when A Time of Our Singing came out. Absolutely an amazing experience.

I was 22 when I first started reading them. My sister who was 14 was into them and my mom and I got hooked as well.

    Which Book-Cover Did You Buy?

I bought the US kid's edition. I ordered it online and that was what they sent. I like it the best out of the three though.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Discussion *Spoiler Alert*

I agree with a lot of what everyone is saying. I too drew the parallels between the dark mark and current world events. In a way it made the story more enjoyable for me though, it gave me an element of the story to relate to and draw from. I too was saddened by the death at the end...

    Online Book Buying

I too have absolutely had it with amazon. I live in a major city and it takes WEEKS for anything to arrive, plus I think their new "prime" program is a joke....$79 dollars a year to get your stuff in a reasonable amount of time, just because they can't get their act together. Lately I've been...

    J.K. Rowling

I don't think she will prolong the series. I think after book 7 she'll be done. I absolutely believe she can milk it forever. She could certainly stop writing and life off the royalties for the rest of her life. I think she'll write again......probably not for the same age group or genre. I...

What do you like to drink while you read?

I too am a self professed coffee addict. My mug is an extension of my arm....sadly quite a few of my books my coffee stains......

Do you ever reread your books?

I reread my books a lot. I am constantly refering to passages or quotes I've marked. I agree that the mark of a really great book is one that you can read over and over again.

How often do you buy books?

I am constantly buying books. I'm not really a library person, so anything I want to read I buy or borrow from friends. I probably buy books at least twice a month.

Whats the longest you have ever spent buying a book

I can spend hours and hours just browsing in a book store if I'm not looking for anything particular, on the flip side I can just go in and get out if I know exactly what I'm after. It just depends on my mood I guess.

What do you use as a bookmark?

I use those post it flags, very sticky, and you can mark the paragraph where you left off. Also useful to mark quotes or passages you want to refer to again.

Law and Order (Classic, SVU, CI, and TbJ)

What's the name of the Law&Order they show during the summer that's real-life cases?? Shouldn't they be playing it again soon.....

    Cancelled TV Shows

My so called life! I was so happy when they released it on DVD.

J.K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Book 5 was much darker than the others. Harry went from being such a sweet boy to a surly teen.....I miss the innocence of the early books. I think #1 will always be my fav.
