Has anyone read this amazing book? I just finished it, and was blown away by it. :D
Below, is my review.
Right from the introduction of the book, we know we are facing a mystery. In the initial pages, we learn that the protagonist’s teacher, Hannah, has been found dead, “hanging by a...
Has anyone read any books by this fellow?
I've read The Rosary Girls, and recently finished The Skin Gods. I have to say, I was quite impressed. His work does seem to be a cut above so many of the other books in the genre. :)
I had been eagerly awaiting this book, ever since it was announced, about two years ago. Pillars of the Earth was one of my favourite novels, and introduced me to the historical fiction genre.
Though it is marketed as the sequel to Pillars of the Earth, World Without End could easily be read...
I thought I’d start a thread on this book, even though I’m only about half way through it. It has received mixed reviews on Amazon, plenty of them negative, usually complaining that the book wasn’t another Out.
Briefly, the story is about the murder of two Tokyo prostitutes, both...
Got this in an email today. I think it's pretty cool, but I can't get all the band names.
If you look at the picture below, there are supposedly 72 bands in the picture.

Led Zeppelin
Garbage
Rob Zombie
Eels
The Eagles
Rolling Stones
Guns n Roses...
Amazon.co.uk are showing two release dates for Stephen King's new book - both hardcover, and one month apart. What gives? I checked in WH Smith when it's released, and they say February 27th, but Amazon have another release date for January 24th (as well as the 27th February)...
Just finished Eleanor Rigby, by Douglas Coupland. It tells the story (in journal form), of Liz Dunn - a cynical (with a wicked sense of humour/observation) lonely woman in her early forties who has been somewhat emotionally estranged from everyone and everything in her life. She has had nothing...
Has anyone read this book? I have just finished reading it, and I wasn't too impressed with it. It's kind of a fast-paced medieval "find the holy relic and get the girl, and fight the evil ruler" book - which from what I recall, is different from what he usually writes? How does this...
Just wondering if anyone has read The Coma, by Alex Garland (author of The Beach and The Tesseract). It's very short - more of a novella really - maybe 200 pages (there are no page numbers  ), and about a quarter of those are illustrations (by Alex Garland's father).
The book is...
Hello everyone!
I'm glad to have finally found a busy book forum, full of a lot of suggestions/recommendations. :D I'm into reading pretty much anything - horror, non-fiction, sci-fi, literature, except romance. I like big thick books that I can sink my teeth into, but also enjoy some light...
