Chapter 7
It was early in the morning and in the Great Dwarven Hall. Dwalin had called an early council. “Bring me the hobbit,” he said, sending away two of his servants. “We’ll get this settled once and for…” The door came bursting open with a deafening crash.
“Sorry to disturb you...
Chapter 6
The sentence Puff was going to receive in the morning, whatever it might be, wasn’t even bothering him; it was the humiliation and the thought of letting down Master Peregrin that bothered him most. It was truly terrible. The room he was in was luxurious in every aspect, it was as...
Chapter 5
The Hall of Kings under the Blue Mountain were far more majestic than the tales Puff had heard ever gave credit, and even walking through the threshold he could hear the countless footsteps lose their voices deep in the open vaults and chasms. It was truly spectacular in all its...
Chapter 4
The region around Ered Luin was a fine mix of woods and plains, and was always green, even in winter. Puff had walked towards the mountains for several hours now, whistling ancient hobbit tunes as he marched forward. He had heard all of what the half-witted dwarf had said and...
Chapter 3
It was a week since they had left the Shire, and as Puff had suggested, they left that very night into the cold mists of the Old Road. In previous years, it would have been unheard of for a hobbit of any stature to just up and leave on such short notice, especially when they were...
Chapter 2
The Stone Well was a quaint little pub, hardly mentionable when compared to The Dragon, but the hobbits of the South Farthing found it a good home after a long day’s work, where one could lose themselves in a pint… or six.
The dwarf finally let go of the poor hobbit as they...
This is an early work of mine written for a class in high school some years ago. I'm putting it up here because I only recently came across it again and find it a rather enjoyable story for anybody. Based off the works of J.R.R. Tolkien it's really nothing more than a bit of fan fiction, and...
An interesting take on the island and I think it could definately be an answer to it. The only other thing I really couldn't figure out was the significance of the other blind man in the other boat. Most likely a hallucination of the delerious Pi, it still has to mean something more than a...
Wow, excellent taste! Nobody ever seems to really acknowledge Portishead. Although my favorite of their albums is the self titled. On a different note the Forty Licks compilation is a must for any stones fan. Good collection.
Favorite band: Sublime
Favorite album: 40 oz. to Freedom...
The Silmarillion is really an incredible book if you're a fan of J.R.R.'s writing style and can get over the thickness of it. It's definately not a casual read and at times can feel like a historical text. It's always been one of my favorites.
I read Dracula some years back and I can't say that I was too impressed. Bram Stoker seemed somewhat unsure with the direction he was taking the novel and the Journal system for chapters came off as awkward at times. On a completely unrelated note, I find it interesting somebody mentioned...
