I haven't seen Serenity yet (planning on it hopefully soon), but try the TV series Firefly (also from the mind of Joss Whedon), which is the precursor to the movie Serenity...very good stuff.

I didn't know that "no answer" wasn't counted...I left a few as no answer thinking it was possible that none of the words were a match...if I had known there was definitely an answer for each word, I would have guessed my best...
Over the past 2 days I read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen...not strictly a "nature" book but rather a wilderness survival type book, I just think he writes the wilderness *really* well. It was a compelling and extremely engaging read.

I was lookin for Keith Richards the whole time, and at the end, when the "guy" (I won't spoil) walks down the steps in the chick's hut, I was sure it would be him. Felt random, who it turned out to be, but compelling nonetheless...
First movie was way better, largely because it is a cohesive...
Jennifer Roberson, who also writes a lot of fantasy, has three books that you might be interested in: Lady of the Forest, Lady of the Glen, and Lady of Sherwood. It has been maybe 5 years or more since I've picked them up, so I don't remember if they are all sequential w/ the same characters or...
next concert: jason mraz, solo acoustic tour
last concert: sadly I don't think I remember...may well have been jason mraz's last big tour (he's about the only current artist I follow) :)

oops, when I use alas in my post, I was really referencing the word: ah, great word, "alas" ...that sort of thing. My fault for not being clear...however, bren completed the sentence nicely. :) I use "alas" whenever something comes up in conversation, like a casual complaint about something, I...
"Alas"...which has somehow worked its way into my normal speech (seriously)...I started using it as a joke maybe 4 years ago (because I love it so), and now I use it without even realizing it. Ah, great word, alas....

I am very prone to tears when reading. Books that really made me bawl include Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson, Good Night Mr. Tom by Michelle Magorian, and then the trilogy of Valdemar that includes Arrows of the Queen, Arrow's Flight, and Arrow's Fall, all by Mercedes Lackey...when...
In my opinion, Wicked is a lot better than Son of a Witch...there was something about the world of Oz in Wicked that was a lot more realized than it was in SoaW...maybe because in SoaW it was expected that we were familiar with the world already? I'm not sure why, but the characters, and even...
The best Complete Works of Shakespeare with annotations, in my opinion, is put out by Pelican. It is usually hardcover, and not often sitting on the average bookstore bookshelf - i.e. you may hafta order it. But it is worth it - the annotations aren't "translations" or anything like that, but...
i actually have three, which, if you met me, would seem very surprising...i got a rose when i was 18 which i designed (but the artist drew), which was my representation of beauty at the time, and is also my middle name, and that one is on my right hip-area...then i designed a cross with a...
I highly recommend The Strand, on the corner of Broadway and 12th Street, and Shakespeare and Co., at 716 Broadway at Washington Place...both of these are in the NYU neighborhood, which is where I went to undergrad, so I know from personal experience that they are good spots. :) Good luck and...
My favorite part:
"You remind me of the babe."
"What babe?"
"The babe with the power."
"What power?"
"The power of the voodoo."
"Who do?"
"You do!"
"Do what?"
"Remind me of the babe!"
:) :) :)

Maybe it's because I first saw it as a kid, but I loved the muppet creatures in this movie. Favorites include Hoggle (I think that was his name), and also the little snail-catepillar-thing who gives Jennifer Connolley directions at the beginning ("'Ello!" :)). Oh and those hands that make...
I echo everyone's sentiments about Farenheit 451 - great read. Also I want to put in a good word for William Golding's Lord of the Flies, another one that really grabbed me in the 9th-10th grade (don't remember when I actually read it).
