    The Black Magician Trilogy - Trudi Canavan

    It's one of my favorites, even if it is as simplistic as everyone says. I'm not very good at making those kinds of judgements, so I wouldn't have known it was YA, which is not so bad since I isially don't go to that section. I stick to fantasy, folklore, and women's studies mostly.

    J.R.R. Tolkien: The Silmarillion

    I really liked it, and I read it twice:the first time over vacation and the second after I saw Return of the King. The book was moving and interesting, even when I had to occasionally stop and mentally go over what had happened several times.
