    Amazon's best books of 2007

I've only read two. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and Harry Potter. Kind of a dissapointment since I have read over 20 books this year and many of them were worth a place on this list.

    J. K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

I really liked it. There were some things JK could have included in the epilogue. (I do wish she had told us what they ended up doing for careers, and what happened to Luna) However, I was not disappointed. Now I am just sad it'e over.

    June 2007 reads

Mmmm reading June was a pretty productive month for me reading wise. I re-read the first four Harry Potter books (I am sooooo stoked for the 7th!) And I also read... The Labyrinth by Kate Mosse (really good) Blink by Malcolm Gladwell (pretty interesting) Extremely Loud and Incredibly...

    Elizabeth Kostova: The Historian

I thought that this was a really good book. Although, it did get a little slow during the middle and then rushed at the end. I also didn't like the fact that the girl narrator was never given a name. I kept thinking maybe I missed it, but there is nothing that refers to her name. But in all a...

    Must Read

It's a little strange, but I actually really like it. It's very interesting and amazing that it is actually a true story.

    Must Read

I don't know if this has been done, but if you were to make a list of books that everyone should read before they die -- what would you put on it? To Kill a Mockingbird, Gone With the Wind, Pride and Predjudice and The Five People You Meet in Heaven would top mine...but there's many more I'm...

    Newbie!!!

Hey! I just doscovered this forum and am so excited to be part of it! I love to read! Although I'm in college, which eats up a lot of time, I am trying to read 100 books in a year. I started in May and have read 30 books so far! I hope to read the 100 by the end of my spring semester.

Favourite Book Quotes What are some of your favorite book quotes? I am making a list of mine! Some include... “ Naw Jem, I think there’s just one kind of folks. Folks.” ~To Kill A Mockingbird “Because when spring comes, it melts the snow one flake at a time, and maybe I just...

    Michael Ende: The Neverending Story

This one of the rare cases where I really enjoyed the book, but enjoyed the movie almost as much. I usually prefer the book over the movie but not so much with this one.

Stephenie Meyer: Twilight & New Moon

I loved Twilight and asked for New Moon for Christmas. I've never read any books about vampires, but adored this one. I'm thinking of reading some of Anne Rice's stuff now.

John Steinbeck: The Grapes Of Wrath

Loved it I read The Grapes of Wrath last year for school, and while I usually hate the books we read in English (because we have to tear them apart so much) I loved this one. I had to do a creative assignment on a book we read so i actually chose this one and wrote an ending intercalary...
