    Thanks for the welcome - sometimes I think NYC might be more fun to visit than to live in :rolleyes: With all the changes that are going on right now I get disoriented coming home from work - new buildings, new people, I'm on overload.

    I LOVE Tolkien's and Lewis' books. I'm also a huge fan of Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising series and Harry Potter and I have the Pullman His Dark Materials books just waiting to be read. I also really enjoy Neil Gaiman's works (although I'm not sure if they're technically fantasy).

    Both those books unnerved me too. Although I had to admit IT has a bit of an edge over Phantoms for me - something about killer clowns.

    I'm new to the forum but figured I had to jump in somewhere :) I have to admit that some of Stephen King's and Dean Koontz's books have scared me. And as an 12 year old reading The Amityville Horror at midnight scared the crap out of me (I still can't look at flies quite the same way)...
