Eric is an ex-soldier, learning to adjust to a civilian lifestyle. Alex is an eleven year old boy who is bullied at school. Cindy is a high school senior who struggles under the pressures of society. They all go through their lives, trying to adjust, struggling, when a major event brings them all together where they will change each other's lives forever.
This book deals with topics such as bullying, post war stress disorders, as well as being proud to be who you are even if you're different. The book is targeted towards ages 13 and up (there is small violence during war flashbacks that would related to a PG-13 movie).
The main characters are all searching for one thing - peace. They just want to be happy in their lives, after all, don't we all? A story everybody can relate to that runs through an emotional roller-coaster from start to finish.
Reader Review:
"The first couple of pages started a little slow but before I knew it I was fully developed in the story and couldn't put it down. The characters are developed in a way that you feel their pain and just want to see them smile." - Seth Parsons
