I'm after a fantasy/historical novel which is fairly recent. Unfortunately I know neither the title nor the author.
It is about a young man who is a print-presser, who creates books. He is summoned to a mechanised castle created by a madman where different rooms move around according to clockwork, he falls in love with a girl, and goes on a quest.
Locations - London, Alexandria (the library), Asia
Set about 200-300 years ago.
He goes off searching for ancient scrolls, its kind of similar to Foucalt's Pendulum.
I'm afraid that's all I know, if you have read it, you will recognise it.
