Trying to find a book series my brother read back in about 1992 in his school library (uk) so plausible publishing date of 1970/80.
What he remembers is:
They were children's illustrated books for people about age 8. It was a paperback series. There was a green Chinese dragon who lived in or near a village where he had a friend that was a boy.
He only remembers bit of books. In one the dragon gets drunk on sake and there are fireworks (it's a double page image), in one book there is a red dragon who the green dragon is very put out with. One book they plausibly go to the Great Wall of china.
He seems to remember the cover as being green with a bronze border with Chinese writing on it.
The illustrations are plausibly in a sketchy style.
My mum thinks there were different colours and the different colours were different reading levels.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
