Just finished reading The Big Girls Guide to Life by Bunkie Lynn. It was recommended to me by several people who apparantly couldnt stop laughing the entire way through. Being in severe laugh-out-loud funny book rut at the time, I was willing to try anything. What a disappointment. The author starts with a foreword warning the reader that she is incredibly funny and has a very dry wit. That was not my idea of dry wit. It was about as dry as England in the summer - ie not very. I think I giggled twice in 150 pages. It probably didn't help that she constantly referred to American brands throughout... I suppose I could have looked them up on t'interweb as I went along but I was just in too much of a hurry to get it over and done with
