damn!! forgot the author

i am embarrassed to say that i possess a book but i dont know the name of its author! it is so old that it is in tatters and the first pages and part of its last chapters are missing
well it is a detective series which was very old. the detective's name is Sexton Blake and his sidekick is Tinker. the name of the book is "The Secret of the ten bales". the character of Sexton is a ripoff of Sherlock
