Eden Found by Mars Cronin

So here comes the shameless self promotion:

Lenny Cronin was Boston's most renowned investigative reporter until he ran a story that falsely implicated the mayor in a political scandal. Now he's consigned to his personal hell of reporting science news. Little does he know that the dullest job he's ever had will lead to the most exciting adventure of his life. Like a naive shopper in a downtown bazaar, Lenny becomes engulfed by the sandstorm known as the Middle East conflict. Unforeseen consequences of his adventure follow him back home to Boston, threatening many innocent lives, including the love of his life Sheila Snow. Eden Found digs deeply to unearth ancient mysteries, explore old wounds and seek solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems. It's a portrait of loyalty, honor, courage and love painted on a canvas of hatred, revenge and bigotry. A roller-coaster ride with twists and turns on every page.

Merged all three threads. Please restrict your self-promoting business to one thread so as not to flood the board.

Thanks for the comment, Peder. Both Smashwords and Amazon allow free looks at the first 50 pages or so. Also check out the reviews on Amazon. They're quotes from unsolicited reviews by professionals from when I put it out in paperback a few years back. Hope you enjoy it, and thanks again...Mars

I certainly don't mind you asking, Beer Good (love the name), but prefer not to discuss it with anyone who hasn't actually read the book first. But let me tell you this; I have studied the source material extensively for about 30 years and have yet to find one historical, geographical or cultural error. Names, dates, places and events that can be verified from other sources have proven accurate. So, I trust the source material. And remember, I've written a novel here. I don't claim 100% accuracy. I've invented dialogue, circumstances and other unimportant matters in order to make a more interesting book. But I do hope to clear up some misunderstandings about Jesus's mission and teachings. Hope that helps a bit, even though I avoided answering your question like a politician. :) ...Mars

There has certainly been enough serious analysis, clarification, argumentation and interpretation, not to mention novelization, through the centuries -- all making interesting reading. So, if your book contributes, it might be next on my list. Too bad no references, I might say, as it sounds like they are omitted -- being a novel, etc.

I'm just asking because if you've found some previously unknown source material on the life of Jesus Christ, I'm sure there are professional historians who'd be delighted, given how little objective historical evidence there is of him even existing. But I get it, it's a secret. :)

Heh, heh. It's not a secret. It's just that I want the dialogue that I hope to generate to come from readers of my book. I'm not interested in having discussions with zealots (and I'm not implying that you are, seriously) who think certain books are the be-all and end-all of his life and teachings. I want to have open minded discussions with open minded people (and I AM implying that you are one of those) :) ...Mars

Thanks; it becomes a lot easier to have an openminded discussion if we know what we're discussing, though, and since new material on this would be a bigger archaeological sensation than the Dead Sea scrolls, I'm just curious.

Yes, Peder all references to source material is omitted in the novel. My plan is to let readers discover it for themselves. And it won't be that hard for the careful researcher. And I DO think this book contributes to..."serious analysis, clarification, argumentation and interpretation..." as you put it. And, if I do say so myself, it's a hell of a read. :) I enjoyed writing it more than any of my other books (well, I kept cracking myself up while writing "That's Why Vampires Suck," to be available by Christmas, but that was a different version of joy.) and found myself growing closer to him with every chapter...Mars

I don't want to mislead you beer good. This material is not some undiscovered archeological find; it's a completely different animal. See my response to Peder for further clarification...Mars

Mars, You've at least convinced me to look at the free kindle excerpt and then see what. :D
