I'm not ashamed to admit I love (most of) this girl's music.

My favorite songs of hers are:

How Does it Feel
Nobody's Home

No, seriously, I've heard OF her but I wouldn't know if a song is BY her or not. I'm not hip on music post-1988.
 
She is a rock/pop singer. I'm pretty sure her first album was Girlfriend in like 2002 or something like that. Her last name is Lavigne.
 
Her first album was called "Let Go" (2002). Her current album, "The Best Damn Thing"(2007), is her third one.

She's got a bunch of great songs (some of which I listed as favorites), but she's got a few crappy songs too ("Complicated" from her first album and "Girlfriend" from her current album are -imo- her worst songs).
 
IMO Her first album was okay even though I never really listened to it.
Think her latest is really bad. I don't like this bad girl style she's trying to follow. Also hate the song Mandi-chan mentioned, "Girlfriend".
I think her only OK songs are rock ballads.
In Germany, however, she is popular. Can't understand how come.

Because she's a talentless hack that can't sing.

Music today is more about looking good than actually being good.
