I ran across this book awhile ago, but can't remeber what it was called or who it was by. It was a fiction about a boy who begins work for a young essentric lord in his manor and is at first a bit afraid of the hermit-like man but soon mysterious things start happening. (sorry for the bad summary, I never got a chance to read the book).
I think the name of the book was a place name, like the name of the man's manor or whatever and seemed to have an 18th century british feel to the settings. It was both a fiction and a sort of mystery, or sounded like it.
