Hi all-

I've been looking for a book for many many years, and unfortunately do not know the title, author or when published.

It was written for middle-school aged children, and was a story about a pond or lake in the United States, maybe Minnesota. It was probably originally published 30 years or more ago, but I'm not sure.

The introduction tells the story of glaciers carving out indentations in the land, and leaving behind lakes and ponds, etc. The story itself starts out I think from the perspective of a frog on a lily pad, who then jumps into the water and the story passes to the perspective of a bass or some other fish swimming by... it continues on, passing perspective from one creature of the pond to the next, finally a bird of some kind who sees a little boy.

It is not poems, it is a narrative. Short, but charming story.

Can anyone help me find out the title, or author or .... ???

Thanks so much in advance
