Help! Here's a search for an old SF Series...

I am looking for titles and/or author of a series of science fiction novels probably from the late 1980's. The series was about a group of people looking for 5 rings that had micrchips in them. Each ring design was based on the last five verses of The 12 Days of Christmas. The rings were used in the last novel to shut down a "master" computer.

This thing is driving me nuts!!!!!
