Homelessness

I am beginning to do some research on the issue of homelessness. To start I am only looking at homelessness in North America.

So far I have ordered; Rachel and her Children; by Jonathon Kozol, Tell them who I am; by Elliot Liebow, and The Visible Poor; by Joel Blau. Can any of you offer any other suggestions?

Nickel and Dimed, a great book by a journalist/writer who worked lots of minimum wage jobs over the course of a year and wrote about it. Both she and lots of people she worked with were homeless at points. It's more about the working homeless than the jobless/homeless, but a really powerful inditement of the hidden poverty in America.

Thanks Novella, Just from my preliminary reading I have found that the working homeless are a fast growing segment of the population. Scary, huh? I will get ahold of the book you suggest, it sounds like something that would be very helpful.
