saw a book by this author when browsing on bookbrowse.com.
So,anyone read any of his books ?Which one would you recommend ?
 
His most popular novel is An Instance of the Fingerpost. I read so much, was actually enjoying it, but forgot to finish it. I will probably return to it later this year.

His early novels, as far as I'm aware, are average.
 
I read "an instance of the fingerpost" but didn't enjoy it at all. I would have given up had not some of my friends insisted it was great and was worth hanging on. Took me 4 Months to finish it although I usually like historical mysteries.
