The Secret

Planets are aligning in the sky.
A great conjunction is at hand.
The forest path once hidden in darkness
Now smolders with soft green fluorescence,
Guiding the ways of the weary.
The ancient etchings of a door begin to glow.
A trembling hand reaches for the cold stone,
Her touch spreading a soft blue radiance
Like wildfire over the surface of the granite.
The fog envelops her as she steps back,
And the archway starts to shimmer
Until the door vanishes in the black of night.
A waning moon captures her determined eyes.
Her cold breath rolls like curls of smoke.
When all of the forest falls silent,
She gathers courage and takes that final step
Into the unknown...
And as if the door had never been there at all,
A shadow, an apparition of the night...
It fades with dawn.

Edit: I rated this thread, but it doesn't show a rating in the post. I don't know if that's correct, if it's supposed to show the rating I gave or not. Anyway, I rated your poem a 4 out of 5.
