Looking for good classics

I am interested in reading some really good classics. Recently I got 1984 and am looking forward to reading it. I also enjoyed Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. So does anyone know some good classics that are the size of Moby Dick ;-) and are relatively easy/interesting to read.

Thanks a bunch!!

=D

Was Moby Dick easy to read???
I am sure these are obvious but

Jack London - Sea Wolf
Cormac McCarthy - Blood Meridian (not that easy to read??)my favorite book!
Vladimir Nabokov - Lolita
Pat Frank - Alas Babylon

Haha. I meant to say not the size of Moby Dick, but the size doesn't really matter that much!

Thanks! I will definitely look in to those!

Here are some excellent classics that I have read recently:

Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

How far do you go back in terms of classics? Which century?

I don't really have a time frame. Just things that would be considered classics. =D

And chiangaifalcon - I didn't think of Journey to the Center of the Earth. I will look into that one!

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty sure I have a good list for the next few months. =D

OK...Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is good...also Persuasion by Jane Austen if you like lots of gossiping and fainting ladies, Oroonoko is a nice short story by Aphra Behn. Anne Radcliffe's A Sicilian Romance makes for easy/fun reading too though it is rather old-fashioned.
