Mardi Gras
Another birthday floating by,
Effortlessly tugged along by time.
Not much progress
On the Memoir lately,
For in further living
The parade has passed,
Different scenes have come into view:
Remorse, contrition,
What might have been,
With greater tolerance
And understanding.
Finally, time to reflect.
Then writing can resume again,
Wiser, after introspection.
