Meeting Mr. Ed: A Journey of Discovery on the Appalachian Trail is one of the most enjoyable books I've read in years. I scan the online booksellers for Appalachian Trail books. Many of the self published hiker accounts are ego trips by the writer. Not this one. Meeting Mr. Ed is written by a son who hiked for 10 years or so with his father who was in his 70's. It is part travel journal and part biography of Mr. Ed. I finished the book and called my kids and my Dad to try to schedule a time to see them.
