Mortal Engines, anyone?

Has anyone read the Mortal Engines Quartet? I'm currently reading the first book in the series, Mortal Engines, and it's entrapped me from the word go. It's a post-apocalyptic science fiction series by British Author Philip Reeve.

I'm mainly interested in seeing how other people react to it, as I've heard all sorts of good things about it from my friends.

What I like about the series so far is the author's descriptive talent. He really gives the world a realistic and ''gritty'' feel. I may or may not revise my judgement as I go along, but so far so good. =)
