I'm hoping someone can help me find either the author's name or the title of this series of mystery novels. I've tried on yahoo answers with no joy, and am currently working my way throught the character lists on Stop You're Killing Me (I'm on e right now) but nothing has rung a bell yet.
So here's what I remember. The main character is in her 20's and works in a London insurance company where her curiosity leads her to investigate claims. The (for lack of a less trite term) love interest is a cop who spends most of his time trying to get her to keep her nose in considerably less dangerous circumstances pushing paper instead of solving crime. The only one of the plots I clearly remember had to do with arson, and the death of a young street kid in a house fire. Any help would be appreciated.
